1641 Trans Fan hits shift rod in reverse
Any one have any idea? Picked up the 1641 cheap. Normal problems and all.
All the fan blades were missing. Install new fan, blades hit the shift rod in reverse. Not sure if its the wrong fan or ???? |
How about some pictures...???

Looks like MTD has changed the design slightly from what came on the 1641 and other Cyclops tractors. You may end up trimming the blades to clear. The pic is the best one I have of the older style fan.

You may be able to flop the linkage to the opposite side Like I did in this 1210.
|
Tried flipping the linkage. No room next to the frame......
I am pretty sure I have the correct fan...... |
This is the part number info from Parts Tree.
Cub Cadet 931-3095 (replaces 731-3095) Fan, 10 Blade Hydro If you bought a 931-3095 then you have the correct fan. How much would you need to trim to make it clear? |
Wouldn't need a lot. Just the corner of each blade.
That is the part number for the fan I got. |
Best suggestion I have for you is maybe try to bend the linkage to clear or trim the fan. When you tried to flip the rod did you flip both ends? Maybe that would work, just thinking. I know even with the older fan they are very close.
