Advice on brakes

3 Attachment(s)
Working on my 127 and trying to get the brakes adjusted. I have those jam nuts in way the heck to far and still very little brakes. So are the jam nuts that only adjustments? I didn't think the pads looked that bad but are the pads the only part to this mech that could really wear?

Can't see what you have remaining on the pads with the wheel in the way. I have seen spacer used between the nuts on the rods to get a little more use out of worn pads. No warranty expressed or implied.

Yeah I was expecting to hear that about the pic once I saw how it looked up on line :) OK so maybe some spacers till I can get something worked out. I might try to find some used pads that need to be relined and get them ready in the background while working the spacer idea.

I was also looking to maybe get new springs in the brakes assembly. This is the part number but has anyone used anything else that is easier to pick up? IH-530678-R1

The lever going into the caliper that actuates the brakes can get worn down, i had to weld and reshape the ones on my 108 to get them to work correctly.

My 149 brake pads look good from the top. But they are just slightly taller than the disks, and are worn out, but it's not visible until you can look at them from the end view.

At a lose here...

So can someone check out this pic and give me an idea what's wrong with these brakes? From the look you would think it's the pads but I measured these against new material I just bought from the recommended thread on this forum for relining and they seem just as think as the new material. Could I see a pic of a working brake caliper please.

Here is a link to a large version of this pic

Looks to me like they should grab, if the level was pulled far enough.

Your link is already as short as it goes.

Any chance the brake pedal is bent, or maybe it twisted on the shaft...

Could the entire caliper assembly have slipped and rotated a little forward?

I'll have to check your ideas.
The calipers can't twist on the trans axle so I have to rule that one out. Anyone have a pick of a working caliper for me to match off?
