I spotted this good looking 1250 and having no experience with this unit I thought I would share it with all of you and ask for you to share you thoughts regarding this model and what it may be worth. I have not seen it other than this picture. It looks good and the owner did say that the paint is as good as it looks. The deck is 42 inch and isn't as nice so I'm thinking maybe someone repainted the tractor but I can't say for sure. He also stated that it smokes a little on startup but clears after a few minutes. It's not a fogger he said. Tires are all Carlisle and are in good shape he stated. Please help me put a value on this 1250.

Thanks,
Randy

Also, if you could provide me a good reason why I should buy another Cub that would be helpful as well.

I'm not sure about the value of it, but I have that same cub I am restoring in hopes that it looks as good as that.....but if I were to guess its value. I'd say around $1000. But that is one sharp Cub! How much is he asking?

The 1250 is a great machine! I can't tell from the pic if it is a hydraulic lift machine, or a manual lift. It it is hydraulic, that's a big bonus! Can't go wrong. Repainted or not, doesn't matter. In my area, I'd say between $400-$500 with a deck.

They don't make tractors like these anymore. :drool2: You can do alot more with that cub then what you can you can do with a new garden tractor...I'd pay up to $1000 for one of those with a rebuilt engine, new paint and a clean deck....even more if it were hydraulic. But that's is just my :TwoCents:

Probably a matter of perspective and area, I paid $550 for my 1450 with a rebuilt engine, impeccable paint and tires, 3pt and hydraulic lift.

And..... this is one of the reasons why the price on these is getting silly. Yes, I agree with you about how well they are built, but it's a 30+ year old machine. If it had been fully restored with a new motor and everything was brand new, then yeah, maybe a grand. But good paint doesn't make it a sound machine. The OP said nothing about it being rebuilt. Matter of fact, he said it smokes on start-up. If you are willing to pay $1000 for a nice QL, I have 2 I want to sell you! I don't mean to be/sound harsh, but a grand is way overpriced for any QL in this ones condition.
