different motors?
hey guys i need help on a 1966 cub 71,,,,,i have an issue getting parts,,,,,,the original spec for the cylinder wall is 2.875,,,,and all i can find on the k-161 now is the piston for measurment of 9.765 or somethin like like that,,,,,i read somewhere that they made 2 different 7 horse blocks,,,,,,any help from anyone is gretly appreiciated,,,,,i need this answer quick,,,,,,thanks guys

There were two different bores for the 7 hp engine the early one was 2.785" and the later one was 2.938". I believe that the 2.785" is no longer available. The 2.938". is available, it is also the same as the 8hp (K181) the 7 and 8 HP engines just use a different stroke.
Someone may need to correct me here but I'm pretty sure, a "factory" 7 HP on a 71 should NOT be the smaller bore. |
