1211 driveshaft failed.

Is there a better replacement available for purchase. The drive shaft I had does not look like the 1211 in the parts breakdown I find online, it looks like a cross from a 1450 and 1211.

Drive shafts normally do not wear out. Issues arise when there is a failure to maintain the adapter ends.

IF....you suspect that you have the wrong drive shaft, then I would suggest you order a new and correct one so you know it is proper.

I should have worded this better. I will assemble the parts this evening and post a pic. the Hydro fan and rear interface look to be from a 1450 series modified to fit the original 1211 2 bolt attach point, where as the front rag and coupler look correct. It has confused me, because I don't want to retrograde if there is a better solution out there.

front d/s connection

rear connection at pump

Rag joint front and rear

the fan and dampner at hydro, connects to rear rag joint

The last link is for a cyclops machine with the CV type shaft. Usually the shaft ends are good but the rear and front couplers get worn. If the rear coupler fits tight on the input shaft then just change the ball bushing but sometimes the engine coupler needs completely replaced. How does it look?

Here is what was on the hydro side.

fan and centrifugal

WTH?!?!? That's not supposed to be there.....

It should look like this:
Attachment 52665

Hence my confusion...

No need to be confused. Some ignorant PO put something there that isn't supposed to be. Take it out, have a shaft built (I STRONGLY suggest JeffinPA for the shaft), put in new ball bushing on the rear and a coupler on the front, new fan and rag joints and be done. Good for 20 years.

someone installed a disconnect clutch on your 1211,they were used mainly on the diesel supers to help cold weather starting.
