1811 Steering

So I was out killing some grass tonight when all of a sudden, I lost steering. Turns out, I had the main ball joint fail on me (where the steering box connects to the front axle). My question is; I've read in various places there is an upgrade you can do to the ball joints on these Cub's to improve steering and longevity. So my question is this; am I best off ordering a couple new stock ball joints or is there something superior I can get at my local Napa or O'Reilly's that is preferred over stock? Thanks guys! :beerchug:

I bought all new ones from McMaster-Carr and they are still on my 1811. They are the greaseable type with a grease fitting on each one. I would expect they will out last the tractor. You can go to their website and look at the ones they offer.

I don't suppose you happen to have a link to the parts you used? :bigthink:

I just searched for the part number and it took me right where I needed to be. ;) Luckily I get paid today so I'll order 4 of them and, well you know the rest. I'll be sure to post pics of the installation :beerchug:
