I found this a nice 169 he's asking $2700
|
I saw that too. About 2,000 at least too much IMO.

I think I saw that one in Portland, IN last weekend (it had the same seat and the seat springs were reversed, too) and he wanted $2000 for it then....I think the owner's name is Dave. He told me that he priced it high to keep the tire kickers away. Make him an offer and see if he takes it serious....but it would have to probably be at least $1000. If it is the same one, then it does run well.

We kick around the price on this 169, but to be honest to ourselves, I'd pay $2700 for it before I paid $2700 for a new one from the box stores. We know about what these sell for normally, so to us it is priced too high. All things considered, I believe that it is a lot more tractor than what my local cub dealer is selling for the same deck size just down the road from me and this one is more of a collector's item with wheel weights, etc.

Don't know for sure but it kinda looks like it has weights or wheel covers on the front wheels too.
I gotta agree with CC123 it's still a better value than a new one for the same money. As buyers we like for the prices of these machines to be really low, and for the most part they are. But it kinda hurts that you can't get your money back out of them once you've bought one and rebuilt/repaired the worn out stuff. Somehow we need to get the price of good running Cubs up to the point where we can "support our own habits". I think we should all start buying up every old Cub in sight so there are no cheap ones left, repair what needs to be repaired and then hold out for more money when selling... We can blame the price increase on Obamacare. Besides that, my Daughter is REALLY wanting to retire after I die and if the price on these machines doesn't go up... She may not be able to. |
