Problems with my 1250
ok I just had my cub serviced for summer and now it will not start. It just clicks when i turn the key. I just replaced the battery in it. Not sure where to start on this one. Any ideas guys? any help would be greatly welcomed.

Sounds like an electrical wiring issue, specifically the "grounding". Look at all your ground connection, that they are clean, bright and tight.
|
wiggle all the the wires until they slide a little on the connector. The battery posts, the ground, etc. Sometimes corrosion builds up at the interface and you dont see it, but it loses connection.
Once you find the culprit clean it up well |
"had it serviced"?
Did it come back from service non-running? I'd be hopping mad and be telling them to fix my tractor that they broke. |
Connections, battery charge and Check the interlocks (PTO, Brake).
Try turning the motor by hand, I have seen the starter lock against the flywheel from low voltage. Turning the motor by hand will release it. It is usually something simple, but DO NOT hit the starter with a hammer, that breaks the magnets inside. Greg |
To me "clicking" sounds like a bad silly-noid. Those darn things are so picky. Or I should say they are at my house anyway. If any of the "safety" switches were ingauged it would not click. But deffinatly check grounds good and try jumping the silly-noid with the key on. If it turns over jumping the silly-noid then its bad. On a QL getting to them sucks!!! Gotta take off the gas tank and the small shroud behind it on the colum.
Hope you get it fixed. John |
Oh yea. You can get to the silly-noid with a screw driver with the tank on. Just cannot change it. Or, well... I dont think i could..
