Bolivier's 1650 refresh thread
I see all of you guys threads on here and I've really been wanting to revamp one of my tractors. This isn't going to be a resto, just a refresher if you will. There will be some painting, but mostly I want a good working tractor that doesn't look to bad either.
Here is what I'm starting with. Some of you may have seen this in my "Yellow fever has struck again" thread. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps55c30e4d.jpg No muffler. I'm not too concerned about the tins around the muffler, but I will most definitely be getting a new muffler. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...psf2a73e3f.jpg None of the lights work. One headlight is dangling by the wire. Terminal is broken on that light. All lights will be functional when finished. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...psda46fbc1.jpg Gas tank is just sitting there. It looks like somebody was working on it, and never finished putting it back together......or they just used it as is. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps5ee5142b.jpg Just a shot of the front of it. My other 1650 has a circle cut out in the mesh grill for the exhaust to exit. This one does not. I thought all quietlines exhaust exited through the hole in the grill?? http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps30a9d531.jpg Steering is loose. Dash tin is completely faded out. Wires sticking out of the fuse holder. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps3d5da9e5.jpg A little body work needed. There is also a small hole in the hood. Looks like maybe for a switch at one time. Have to weld that up too. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...psf687a54e.jpg I'm not sure how involved it am going to get with this project. I'm just going to tear into and go from there. I want to fix all mechanical issues first. I just ordered some side panels off ebay that look WAY better than the tractor. So I will for sure be painting the hood, dash, and nose to look as good as the side panels. Then I'm going to HAVE TO order some new decals. Probably end up painting the frame and fender pan. We'll see. Here are the new panels. http://i161.photobucket.com/albums/t...ps8ba0366a.jpg Talk at ya later. Brent |
Looking forward to your updates Brent! Nice side panels also!

Looking forward to your progress, I see you are up for a challenge, getting everything on your to do list done.
Good luck, I'm pulling for you:beerchug: |
Can someone tell me when this tractor was made? Where is that data so I can look up my other tractors? Thanks.

My 1650 doesn't have the grill hole either. I kinda like it better without it, personally.
I had no idea the guy that cobbled up my 1650 had a matched pair and sold them both! :) I'll be following along too as a mental preparation for getting back to working on mine! Soooo much to do! I also want to know how your cat enjoys bike rides! :) |

Yup, that trunnion is roached.
Some of the QL's had a hole and others didn't, never really understood that. Amazing what you find when you start tearing into these tractors:bash2::bigthink: |
Good job on the tear down. Please keep the updates coming.
