125 trunion removal

Short and sweet. Anybody ever pull the trunion off a 125? Any pics? I looked thru the books and things on here and couldn't find anything. Any and all help is appreciated.:bigthink:

Easiest way is to pull the rear and once the rear is out you can see pretty clearly how it comes apart.

If you slit the tractor in two as the manual discribes you won't have any problems getting access. For my 125 however, once I got the split ring off the trunion shaft and the bracket off, the arm itself doesn't seem to want to come off. I haven't pulled too hard because I don't want to damage anything. I'm thinking of trying to get a gear puller on next. Or it will be welded/reworked in place.

:bigeyes:Yep, thats the same thing I ran into. It appears that the arm is welded on the shaft. I think Im going to try the repair while its in the tractor also. I read somewhere that this requires alot of wet rags. Gonna attempt it tom evening, so if ya hear fire whistles.......

You guys may want to flip through the service manual to see how to remove the "trunion shaft assembly"

Ok, so heres how it went. Pulled the fenders and seat mount. Lossened and moved 3 point out of the way. Had to bend the tunnel cover a bit to clear the outer bracket. Pulled the snap ring and moved the outer bracket out of the way. Decided to weld up the trunion in the tractor. All went well. Filed it square and looked good. Start anded to put it back together and realized the outer bracket that hook s to the hydro lever was flopping around. Soooooo...... had to split it anyway. Found the stud that the outer bracket rotates in broke off. So welded it up and ground it down. Runnin outta daylight so will put it back together tom.
