rolled the spacer peice and welded it in actually turned out straighter when finished than when i started. not 100% perfect but the hubcaps or weights will hide the sins lol. added 4 inches and now have 11 inches bead to bead

Nice job. How did you cut the wheel?

dbuck 05-18-2014 09:46 AM

:Morning: I do not know how he did it. But I have a Buddy of mine that chucks them in a lathe and uses a parting tool. He also uses the lathe to tack the band in and for the final welding, using a dial indicator to check the run out during the final welding. :American Flag 1:

bolted it to a hub spun it and used a cutoff wheel on my grinder. worked out quite well left it mounted on hub while i tacked it back together.

Nice job. What are you going to run on them, or run them on for that matter?

im in the process of turning my 782d into a super. have a supersteer front axel that has f cub hubs and 18 850 8s and power steering. waiting on patton acres to send me the super tunnel cover so i can use it to judge how far to stretch frame. do you think it needed a bath?

ACecil 05-19-2014 11:41 AM

It definitely needed a bath! Looking forward to your build! :beerchug:
