Cub cadet teaser spring
I know I've read and seen articles\posts about using a spacer to replace the teaser spring on the gear drive cubs. Has any one done this and is is there an advantage or is this just for pulling cubs?

The teaser spring keeps the clutch from rattling (very noisy) when the clutch is applied.
Removing it, or replacing it with a washer will just make it rattle like crazy (been there). |
Not only will it rattle like crazy, it won't engage smoothly. That 'lockwasher and spacer' myth is total BS in my opinion. I tried it, and it sucks.

When you do that it will make it jerk and you will almost pop a wheele(a po did it to mine)
|
O.k. teaser spring it is.
