100R getting a new heart

Alright ladies and gentleman, the 100R been in the corner being not used cause the 12hp wore out. Been debating on what I should do for an engine. I got a guy saying he'll trade a 12hp and a 14hp Kohler for my cyclops plastic I have lying around. I plan on putting the 14hp in the 100, hopefully have a little more power. Is there anything I should look into on the engine before I get into on this project. I know what to look for, but are balance gears an issue. If it has them how do i get rid of them?

A 14HP doesn't fit in the frame...... :bigthink:

I know I gotta notch the frame out.

Or use the 12hp flywheel and tinwork.

Yeah, since you have all the parts anyway, use the 10/12 hp backing plate, flywheel and tins on the 14 hp engine. Then you won't have to cut up a perfectly good frame and it will be kind of a "sleeper".

The smaller fly wheel won't damage anything. If not that'll make my life easier. Cause then I'll just pop off the K-301 parts and put them on the 14hp.

No, the smaller flywheel won't hurt anything.

I only have one 14 hp engine that is set up with the smaller flywheel and related parts, but I think it may be the strongest engine that I have.

Okay, thanks guys. Can't wait till Saturday when I get it. I'm gonna make a custom exhaust for this. I'm thinking dual chrome pipes

Sounds good, Donovan!
