My 149 and it's problems.

Put the 149 up on the lift today to do a good check out. If I was smart I’d part it out but I’m not all that smart. Here is what I have found so far. PTO is toast, broken and missing bolts that hold the rear end in place (and you guys thought it was only the aluminum rears the had this problem) choke and throttle cables are frozen and need to be replaced, drive shaft is a mess, gotta love the grade 5 bolt (I have a plan for this) axle seals are leaking (BTDT) Oh yeah 2 of the 4 bolts that hold the engine in are missing. Not sure about it charging, wiring looks like poop, brake pads are shot, the seat is trash. Hydro lever is loose and I can’t get it off the shaft. Let’s not even talk about cosmetics. I’m out of my mind but I’m gonna patch this turd up enough that it will run the tiller.

Sam, I'm sorry the 149 needs so much work, but I'm sure with your skills , it will be fixed up in no time , btw, I just had to do some work on my 149 today, only needed a new fuel line, spark plug, and coil wire.:biggrin2::beer2:

Sam,
Sounds like the 127 I had,I am sure the frame has a crack in it somewhere.
You know who has the parts...

Have not found a cracked frame, yet. Gonna pull the fender pan and pressure wash the pig to see what I have. I know the rear and the engine are coming out. This is going to be a very low budget fix or it's getting parted out. Engine runs great and the trans seems to be good. If they had issues it would be parts city for it. Oh yeah I forgot the head lights work perfect, LMAO

Oh Goody Goody. I'll take a Ratty Cyclops over this POS any day. Only reason I may fix it is for tiller duty. 1maybe 2 hours of use per year. I need a lobotomy. :beerchug:

Yikes! Sounds like you got a few wrench turns ahead of you. Sorry there's so much to do. Once you get it running, I'm sure you'll fall for it. In good shape, they are great tractors; part of me still regrets getting rid of mine :biggrin2:

Don't worry too much Sam, you will know that it is trustworthy and solid when you are done. The only bad part, besides the NTBR (Need To Be Repaired) list is that tiller time is ticking down for this years gardens, but you could always till for next year if you get it done too late for this season. I still think that you got a good bargain full of items on your trailer and I'm looking forward to your seeing your progress buddy!
