Help with a 582 Special restore

I decided to restore my old 582 special that has been in my family since my grandfather bought it new. the motor was swapped with a new 18hp Briggs to replace the worn out 16hp. At one point what eventually took this mower out of service was the started had gone out and the motor was pulled, worked on, then left. I will try and get photos but I have all the parts I believe I need to be done I am simply lacking the booster fan. It must have been lost in the couple of moves this lawn mower made. Now on the parts diagram it shows 2 different fans 1 for a replacement motor (which is unavailable) and the one for the original motor. I imagine that the one for the original motor is the one I need because I have the original motor that they took out of the mower to begin with and it they used the flywheel and shroud off of the old motor. I just wanna confirm before I drop that much money on a part that it is correct. also the diagram shows a key between the flywheel and the nut on the crank I just have the nut. Is there a place I can source one of these booster fans and the key if I need it used? Does anyone have any photos of how this assembly is suppose to look? Hopefully someone can help me. I like this mower a lot and rebuilding something that was my grandfathers (passed) would really be nice for me.

When you say " Booster Fan " , are you talking about the fan that bolts to the flywheel to push air thru the engine ??

If so , i have a fan from a Briggs , but i am not sure if it come from a 482 or a 582 Special. The 482 came with an 11HP Briggs i think.

It wouldn't matter what engine the fan came from , as long as it would clear the blower housing i would think. The hub that bolts to the flywheel SHOULD be the same and i would think the hole in the hub for the crankshaft bolt would be the same.

If we can figure it out , you can have the fan if you pay the ship cost.
