A couple top links Brinly Cat O questions...
 

Hey guys,
These two top links came with the cultivator and disc I recently picked up. I don't know if Brinly sold top links to go with their attachments. The first one is on the disc. It has a screw adjustment. The second one came on the cultivator. It has adjustment by moving a pin. They both have white pain and are patina'd to match each implement. The PO had picked up each separately at auctions and never used them. Brinly top links or did a PO just buy them and add them to the implements?? Thanks for any insight or information.

The one on the disk looks like a PO mod. A top link needs to be able to "swing" with the hitch, and that clevis style wouldn't allow for that. I'd say PO mod, and I don't recommend using it, as you might tear up your top link mounting if the implement tries to swing.

The one on the cultivator may indeed be Brinly. Never seen one but it looks to be made for that purpose. I would prefer a screw style, but that's me. :beerchug:

I bought a Brinly plow and it came with the exact same top link in your picture. Obviously it went to a tractor that had a blade lift instead of a bar lift The plow end was a single blade that went into the two top link ears. It was a sturdy link but most tractors use the bar or 3pt hitch type two ear lifts. I went to McMaster-Carr to see if I could get a single rod end for the tractor end for my JD 332 but I couldn't find the right thread size.

Thanks for the insight guys. I had no clue on either. May just pull them both off and put em on the shelf and use a regular top link. We'll see. :bigthink:

Nice haul! The toplink on your disc is for a Sears suburban three point, and I'm sure you could easily sell it.
