Help quieting down my 109

1 Attachment(s)
Hi all thanks for reading my post! I was wondering if anyone could help me with advice on quieting down my 109, I love this tractor but it is WAY to loud with the stock muffler. I am looking for an aftermarket muffler I can use with little or no modifications so that it is close to being as quiet as the newer mowers without breaking the bank(under 100 dollars), thank you all for the help!

It's possible that your current muffler has lost the internal baffles due to age. This will make it louder. You may also have a leak at the joint to the exhaust pipe. Other than replacing the muffler with a new one, or some custom exhaust design, there isn't much you can do. Wear hearing protection?

+1

The internals of your present muffler might be shot. I've got a 109 and don't consider it a super noisy machine.

I have two 125's and one is much louder than the other with identical looking stock mufflers. I would suggest starting with a brand new replacement muffler.

go to a muffler shop and have them route the exhaust down and out the back.

I would be a little worried about setting it on fire if the exhaust was routed under the tractor.
