PLEASE HELP 3235 Lost all hydraulics

I have a cub 3235 and I reacently had the charge pump off to replace a leaking o-ring and now I don't have any hydraulics (Steering, Lift. forward/reverse) So far I have tried Replacing The oil Filter (I always use a genuine cub filter and oil). I also tried letting it run and moving the pedals to try and prime it. Any suggestionshttp://onlycubcadets.net/forum/images/smilies/bash2.gif

I'm wondering if you got the charge pump on backwards or upside down? It's #24 in this pic with the red circle

My guess is also charge pump is on backwards. Not familiar with this model but I know that on the 72 series supers if charge pump is on upside down there will be problems like yours.

I don't think you can put the pump on backwards. There is a flat mark on the part that Sam listed (#24). That flat spot should be on the same side as the control shaft, if you don't then you could have put that on 180* wrong. Do you have the service manual or pics...we like pics?

That's what he means by "backwards", 180° around. It reverses the direction of pump flow. The U-15 hydros can be driven either clockwise or counterclockwise. You just have to rotate the charge pump 180° to change direction. If he did, it is blowing bubbles into the suction tube.

Oops, I agree Jonathan. Here is the link to the manual. They have a good view of it. http://www.mymowerparts.com/pdf/Cub-...epair-Manuals/

The 3235's used a HydroGear Transmission vs a Sundstrand (Sauer-Danfoss). The charge pump is unique to HG.

Yes but I'm pretty sure you can still get the charge pump on 180 degrees.

Thank you all!!! I will definately take a look at it friday (my day off)
I do have the sevice manual and it doesnt show anything about the charge pump other then removing the lines and 2 bolts holding it it place. I looked at it before starting the tractor to make sure it didnt have a special prime procedure.

not to be stupid bu when you say flip it 180 you mean rotating on the shaft?

Im really hopefull this is all it is

Ill report back with photos

On the Sundstrands, the Charge Pump Housing can be mounted in one of two ways, being 180° from each other. Thus, on the Sundstrand you can get the pump to run in reverse.

I have no knowledge that the HG transmissions have this same feature.
