so i did a hrydo oil change last winter because it froze on me due to the moister in the oil after i did it i had to make the gasket due to the fact that the one i bout got thrown away but after i cut it out and put it on and filled it up it always leaked well this winter i was using it to plow with due to my 127 being down and went to use it one day and it would not move i think it was out of oil so i put what oil in it that i had and it wasn't much so i left it sit pulled it out today to change the gasket and oil and i saw that one of the middle bolt holes was cracked but there is still some threads that give a good bite is this what was causing my leak i also go less then a gallon out of it when i drained it what if any thing can i do about this

Yes that is the cause of the leak, you can try jb weld around it.

I know this will not be a popular answer but on my 123 I used a permatex gasket maker to seal the rear cover. I would think that you could use it atleast around the area that is cracked to help seal it more

I would try the jbweld idea as well ( I actually used this on my 123 to fix a hole in the suction tube ) and it has held up all winter

gota love when stuff brakes in the middle of winter

i might try filling the bolt hole with prematex and then run the bolt in to it that should fill in the cracks

That most likely happened from not torquing the bolt properly or a bolt that was to long and bottomed out.

well i dont rember if it was like the last time i was in there but i did have to long of bolts in it then used a nut and washer to tighten the the cover but i did not turn the bolt tight when i put it in i tightened the nut to the cover
