Cub Cadet 129
Was the 129 a good little tractor? I can see this is going to get addictive :)
|
They are a dime a dozen but they are good tractors, pretty easy to find parts for. A wide frame tractor. :beerchug:

I had a 129 (albeit re-powered with a 14hp) and it was a solid little guy. Stout frame, years of refinement to it, mine even had a cigarette lighter :biggrin2: So yes, while they are still fairly common, they are good tractors. Just keep an eye on the trunnion but that goes for any hydro Cub. :beerchug:

They wouldn't do that. IMO, this is the friendliest and most informational Cub Cadet forums out there.
Piece of advice if you start collecting: I would stay away from the quietlines until you are more experienced. They require the most work out of all the IH tractors, they are certainly unique when it comes to the problems they have. I have 2 and one has pretty much every problem that the quietlines have. They are nice tractors if you can find one that doesn't have every problem under the sun. Here's a picture of one of mine. |
Cub Cadet 129's are great working tractors. My first wide frame was a 129. Put a replacement motor in it and it ran great for years. Finally sold it to a guy who wanted a mowing tractor. Bought my second last summer because I missed my first one. Second one became my snow throwing machine and I love it. Runs good and hardly any maintenence to it. :beerchug:

Now you tell me! :bash2: |
I have owned my 129 for 20 years and for 15 of those years it was my only cub I cut grass, tilled the garden, plowed snow and dirt and it stills runs great the 129 is a excellent tractor.
