782 value and "3 pt " question
I missed a 782 last week due to trying to track down its specs instead of just pulling the trigger. The seller had it listed with hydro lift and 3 pt. The pictures did not show it from the rear. Would a 3 pt on a 782 necessarily have lower 3 pt arms with hydro cylinders or could it also have a sleeve hitch adaptor/ "3 pt" more like a older cub (1250 like)? I know value is always in the eye of the beholder, but it was listed at $600 with a decent 50" deck, cast rear end and the tractor was in solid shape and running (not sure if engine was series I or II). Any thoughts on that price? It seemed like something I should be kicking myself for

I wouldn't let my 782 go for $600. If it was in good, useable condition it was worth that.

The 782 can take a sleeve hitch or a Cat O hitch.

$600 wasn't too bad of a deal. Being that it had the cast iron rear, it was probably the sleeve hitch style 3pt. Not that it couldn't be cat 0, but it would have been added. It wasn't offered with cat 0 until later.

Thanks for the info. I'll tell myself it had the sleeve adaptor, since missing one with a real 3 pt would hurt. It is still my stretch goal to get a cub that will hook up to a small trailer tongue with some type of a rear lift. I have the stuff to make a 3 pt system do that, so the 782 with the 3 pt would have met my goal. I am pretty close to finishing the system on my 129, so hopefully it doesn't matter. Using parallel beams for bottom and top links, coupled with a verticle plate on the ends of the beams, the ball mount will go on the verticle plate. I'll get some pics when it is closer to presentable
