Had the 70 out Saturday. Had not run it in about 8 months but she started right up and ran perfect.
Finnally thought to grab the camera and take some pics of it!

We bought this tractor from the original owners. The son remembers picking it up from the IH dealer in 1963. It was purchased new with the Brinly sleeve hitch, a Brinly turn plow, a 38 inch mower deck, and a Haban sickle mower. All of the attachments are still with the tractor. He also had all the original paperwork with it. They also bought a complete 10hp replacement engine in the mid 1980's from the same IH dealer. (its in the tractor now, but we did get the original 7hp with it)

Dad brought it home and did some much needed refurb work last year. He rebuilt the steering gear, the pto ctutch, the drive clutch, release brg, replaced the head gasket, and repaired the wiring and lower part of the dash tower. He had the fenders hanging in the barn for 30 plus years so we added them to the tractor.

Runs great now. I was going to restore it but the original patina and work clothes appearance has grown on me. Think we may keep it that way for a dependable worker.

Right on Jay!! They are only original once. Sounds like a really complete package and the fact that you have all of the original paperwork is a definite plus!! Great pics-thanks for sharing them.

Thanks guys! It doesnt look like much but it's really a straight original tractor. Too bad it spent most of its life in the weather. We rescued it out from under a pine tree where it had been parked 15 years prior. The tires pumped right up and the carburetor ran perfect without any tinkering.

Looks great Jay. And yeah I would leave it too. For some reason we can get more "patina" in the south I think, a few of mine were under a tree like that one. You do anything with 105/pump? Hope to see you guys again and hang out at flywheelers.

Alvy,

We did get the pump and lift system off the 105. Stephen took it all home and is in process of refurbing it. We have a nice 100 that we will probably put it all on when done.

We did get the 105 running. Engine runs great but the hydro unit won't pull. So for now it is under the shed with a few other cadets. Probably wind up being a parts donor.

We do hope to see you again in Florida! Always good to talk cadets with other people who have the fever!

Jay
