128 ignition

I have the engine from a 128 that I would like to use in a go kart, but many pieces are mising. I plan to block off the mecanical fuel pumpto use an eletric fuel pump and make an adapter to use a modern carburator. I need a flywheel and many pieces of the igniton system. I have a coil and spark plug wire but i have no idea how the points were set up or where I can find the perts to set up this ignition. Any help is greatly aprichiated.

Not exactly sure what you are talking about as a Cub Cadet 128 didn't have a fuel pump.

I think you should be able to get all the needed electrical information from http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=22 and http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=27

In order to make this thing work (without major and expensive modifications) you will need to use the factory style starter/generator and a battery. From the wiring diagram simply eliminate the parts/wiring not needed and you should be good to go.

Everything else you need to know about the engine will be in here http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/showthread.php?t=38

Most any NAPA auto parts store will have whatever basic repair parts you may need and our sponsors will have flywheels and other such items.

The reason that I say that it was missing a fuel pump is that n the side of the block the is a rectangular hole with two mounting holes, to me is seems logical that this was for a mechanical fuel pump. If that is not what this hole is for what is it for and is it nessasary to the engine's operation.

I'm Sorry, I don't think I'm going to be much help to you.

The diamond shaped cover that bolts onto the cam shaft side of a Kohler "K" series is where a fuel pump would be in a different application but the hole it covers is round.

The only rectangular hole I can think of is for the breather/valve cover but that cover uses only one bolt (in the middle) to hold it on.

The hole could be round. I am trying to remember the details of this eninge since I can not look at it. The engine is at my friends house.
