Gannon Earthcavators
1 Attachment(s)
I am seeking owners of the early Gannon Earthcavators made during the 60's. While the basic Earthcavator is the same, the mounting arms and brackets differ from tractor brand to tractor brand. I am trying to build a Model index.
Below is a sample of the early Gannon Earthcavator ID tag. Later versions will have a street address on them. I already have an index listing for those later models. The following Models are known: FD xx-01 Bolens FD xx-02 Cat 0 3-pt (regardless of brand) FD xx-6 International (Cub Cadet) - as shown in the photo FD xx-9 Sears/Wards/Roper FD xx-10 Bolens FD= Factory code for the Earthcavator xx= width size 32",. 36" & 42" known sizes made in the 60's era. Looking for: Case/Colt Wheelhorse John Deere Massey Ferguson Allis-Chalmers Simplicity Jacobson/Ford Any help will be appreciated. Myron B CCSupplyRoom |

MBounds,
I really like the looks of the three point on the back of your 122, is it aftermarket, "factory" from a different brand or something that you fabricated yourself? Would you mind posting more pictures of it? |
YosemiteSam: That lift is a Sears/Wards 3-point lift utilizing implemements from Sears (in this case) or Montgomery Wards. At the time (the mid 60's) the most widely sold Garden Tractor was the IH Cub Cadet. Sears/Wards wanted some of that market, so they sold lift kits for the Cub Cadets which is what you see... Now, I did re-engineer the lift handle to accomodate the optional Square Fenders on this 122, so that 90* bend isn't the original shape - otherwise it is a stock Sears lift for the Sears model of the Gannon Earchcavator. I also have a Sears Turning plow and a Sears Harrow which use the same lift...
Watch the Sears Forum closely for them or get me an email to: cubcadet@windstream.net and I'll send you some close-up shots of that lift. Another thought...how many of these have been walked by and ignored in all those boneyards across the country because no one knew what they were looking at.... "oh that's just some Sears junk"...etc., etc. Myron B |
