did the model 70 come with a mower deck??? or where they mostly used for snow plows and snow blowers? :Cub2:

I'm pretty sure they would of come with a deck. I see merk has his with the mower deck's mule drive so yes it would of had a deck. They would of powered a tiller or snow blower as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong though please.

The tractor was sold by itself, and any/all attachments were extra money. Being a garden tractor and not a lawn mower, they didn't 'come with' any particular attachment like a lawn tractor does. The decks are the most common though...something like 95% of tractors probably came with a deck, or at least that's how it seems from the ones I've bought.

For the most part, when you bought a new Cub Cadet, you were buying a Tractor, just like buying a full size tractor. Any implements/attachments were considered a separate purchase (not that they wouldn't add it all together and put it all on the same ticket). I believe more often than not mower decks were purchased along with the tractor, as cutting grass was the tractors main function for most people.

At the same time dealers would normally "make you a deal" in some way, like so much for the tractor and then sell you the mower deck "at cost" or the tractor and mower for one money and "throw in" the blade. Very much like buying similar things today, they could/would tell you what they thought you needed to hear and manipulate the paperwork to make it look like you were getting a really great deal.

You could buy a 70 with or without electric start. All 100s had electric start. The front PTO clutch was an option as well as the mower, fenders, rear 3 point hitch, rear PTO, creaper and hydraulic lift system were all options.

The 100 had the option of wider tires in 1965. The optional front tires were 6.50-8 and the rear tires were 23-8.50-12.
