Johnson loader on a Cub super
I'm very close to picking up my Johnson loader. I believe its a model 14 but I'm not sure. My question is will this loader fit on a super without too much modifications? It came off of a 1*9 wide frame model. It will be going on a 1872 and I'm just wondering if anyone has, or have seen them mounted before

It will have to be modified some. The supers are longer than the 1X9 series so the axle supports going to the rear end will have to be lengthened. I had a 129 with a factory Johnson. The hydraulic pump ran off the back of the engine via a pulley. You'd probably want to move the pump to the front as well. I'd pick it up and then you can compare them side by side, especially if the price is right. If it takes too much to modify, you could resell it. They hold their valve well. :beerchug:
Hopefully someone will jump on with some pics. |
may not have to do that much the length differents I from the tower back all front sheet metal is the same. my kwikway loader fits both super and regulars
