Diesel glow plug relay writeup?
 

I searched this site and can't seem to find a writeup on the glow plug relay mod, just people talking about it. anyone got any links? on a 1782. thanks.

I'm not sure the 1782's need the upgrade. The tractors with the D600's needed it because they put a heater in series with the gp's to limit the current to them. On the 1772's & 1782's they didn't do that but use a lamp timer instead. Is your tractor having a hard time starting?

yeah its been hard to start. 2-3 glow times and then its choppy. it was only getting 9volts to the glowplugs, so I mounted a ford relay on the aircleaner bracket, used the original glowplug wire to trigger it. I will have to test it out in the morning when its cold. was looking for a writeup but couldn't find it.
May need to pull my glowplugs and make sure they aren't swelling on the tips.
