Snow blade for an 1863, fits a QL?

I talked to a guy today who had a snow blade he bought for his 1863. He says it will also fit a WF or QL tractor. I don't see that on partstree.com for example.
Before I drive 100 miles to go look at it, can anyone confirm or deny this "allegation."

Yes it fits. The lift rod is all that is different. The blade subframes carry the same part numbers. :beerchug:

Thanks, Jonathan. I see two different subframes listed on partstree for the 1863--one is the same part no. at used on the WFs, the other has the QA pins facing in rather than out. I assume either one works?

That I am not sue of. But i do know that the QA system is the same, so I would think either would work. :bigthink:

OK, I'll go look at it Thurs or Friday. It's about 100 miles away. guy says it's brand new, never used. We'll see.

The sub frame with the different # is longer from the qa pins to the a frame mount holes lowering the blade at the rear and standing it up straighter, it affects how well the snow rolls off the plow.

I just went and checked the older frame is 4in. qa to holes, the newer frame is 6in.qa to holes.

The seller says the QA pins on his frame point inward, so it's the newer frame. If I understand correctly, the additional two inches (vertically?) lowers the blade support, bringing the top of the blade rearward (toward the tractor). Seems like that would prevent the blade from "rolling" the snow foward off the blade as well?

You may need to do some cutting and welding to get the height correct, otherwise when you angle the blade one corner will want to rise up if the frame is too low. The pivot point needs to be parallel to the ground. Just my guess but you may need to cut 2” out of each side and weld it back together. The pic with the blade in the raised position shows what I’m talking about. You would have the same issue in the lowered position.

That is correct. The "taller" frame is for the cyclops tractors with the higher front axle.
