1450 lift lever?
 

While using the 1450 today the lift lever seams to have come unhooked. It just flops back and forth. I'm assuming it just came loose from the control valve. What's the easiest way to get access and what should I be looking for? Does any one have a diagram of the linkage? Thanks, cjet69

Open the hood, remove the side panels and take a look. My guess is #9 or #5 came apart. The valve is clamped to the steering column. You'll probably also need to take the battery out to get at it.

You might have to remove the plate between the engine/fuel tank and the dash to really get a good look I believe. Just 4 bolts.

In my opinion easiest way to get a clean shot at it is to remove the fuel tank. Very easy to do

You guys are right on the money. I removed the dash plate and found the shaft #6 is turning in the lever #4. Is there a set screw in the back of the lever #4? Looks like the shaft has a hole drilled for one. I may have to pull the tank to get in there.

I removed the fuel tank for access and found the pin had sheared off the lever. Will a roll pin work in place of the solid pin?

It takes what is called a spirol pin which is like a roll pin but much stronger. A regular roll pin might work for a while but if you can find a spirol pin you won't have to worry about it for a long time.

Where would I get one?

Mcmaster has them, they are not expensive and well worth the wait time. I order stainless because I hate dealing with the rusty spirol pins.

I get the extra strength 420 stainless, I have been using them in drive shafts with no problems.
