129 won't move

Last night I parked it, this AM it won't move, the metal shear pin is broken on the engine end of the drive shaft. Can I just whack out the remains and replace the pin or do I have to remove both ends of the shaft Thanks

Would be much easier to remove the shaft from the tractor but yes you can just knock the pin out and replace.

Also, check your engine coupler for wear. You may need to replace it or else you may keep shearing off pins--ask me how I know.:biggrin2:

For temporary purposes I put the pin in and wrapped a hose clamp around the coupler to keep the pin from coming out if it breaks again.

My Dad would do that too as the hole in the shaft got too big.
Then the slot in the engine side coupler got worn too much.
That is when u start shearing pins more often as the coupler has room to slam the pin.
That is when Dad had the slot in the coupler welded up and reground the slot to original shape. As well as the hole in the shaft.
