1450 electrical no-start problem

After turning off the 1450 for a few minutes I couldn't get it restarted. Absolutely no sound and no starter solenoid clicking. I do have lights working and battery is fully charged. I'm thinking it is either a bad PTO switch, ignition switch, or neutral safety switch. The Neutral Safety Switch is pretty easy to bypass, so I'll do that first and see if it starts before getting into the dashboard PTO and ignition switches.

With the ignition switch to RUN and PTO switch OFF, should I have continuity between which of the four terminals (A - PTO Clutch, B - Fuse/Ignition Switch, C - S Ignition Switch, D - Neutral Safety Switch) of the PTO switch? Basically I'm trying to figure out how to test the PTO Switch before moving to the Ignition Switch.

Does it sound like I am going about this in the right way?

Just jump C&D terminals on the PTO switch, that will bypass the switch. Often if you hold the key in the start position and flip the PTO switch the starter will at least click indicating a PTO switch problem.

There is a wiring diagram on the last page of the manuals section.

I toggled the PTO switch back and forth while trying to start the engine and it worked, the 1450 is now running. Obviously I've got corroded internal PTO switch contacts. Thanks for the excellent advice.

Sometimes I have to "jiggle" the switch on my 800 to get it started. Probably replace that switch over the winter.
