Got started tinkering on my O.
As you remember, I put my O on my back porch to have a place to work on it this winter. I put the heat shrink clear plastic on the outside of the screens last weekend to create a green house effect on the porch. Boy, it does almost too good. Can be in the thirties outside and eighty on the porch. I keep the back door, leading inside the house, and it heats my whole house toasty.
Here is it awaiting: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps3aa840ab.jpg And now look at it: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps34530171.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...ps4f4d3ec3.jpg I rebuilt the carb and S/G already. No problems at all so far as everything seems to be in good nick. I had soaked the bolts in penetrating oil earlier so they all are coming out easy. I will have to pace myself or I will be finished it too soon. Question. Is the original the same width as my 122/124 ? If so I guess I can work on them after this one. Thanks for looking. John PS... That is a genuine Persian Oriental Carpet it is sitting on. They are as tough as Cubs. |
Good job, John! Please keep the updates coming. :beerchug:

I was going to ask you about that fancy carpet! At least it will protect any parts you drop!
|
good work:beer2:

Careful, if that carpet is Persian, then it might be a flying carpet and you are likely to lose your O! Then you would step onto your porch and say, "O-my!!!" :biggrin2:
Looks good so far. Get it done ASAP and let it go out in the snow and play....then you can start on another cub! Cub Cadet 123 |
The tower came off real easy as with the steering wheel.
This is the first time anything major has been done to this O. I am amazed that there is no rust anywhere on the frame and tower. It is nice not finding any surprises left by a PO. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v6...psfc1f82bd.jpg |
Very nice, looks like you have a good one to restore. :beerchug:
|
Looks like it is coming along, are you going to paint it in there too?
|
No, I will take it to a neighbor who has a down draft booth and dryer. I don't want paint fumes all over. I will use his bead blaster as well.
|
Lookin' good man! Your making quick work of the dis-assembly!! :beerchug:
