Ideas for a plow
Howdy all,
I am fixing up my plow for my 1650. It needs a new wear bar. Does anyone have any ideas for a cheep replacement. The onest that i have found are all around $60. I called the local welding shop by me and they can get me a piece of mild steel 42'' x3'' for $20. I was thinking about going with a high molecular weight plastic but that was expensive. Does anyone have any ideas on plastic vs metal?:BB&YS: |
Look at my thread a few down from yours about the rubber plow edge

extrememotorworks sells them ready to bolt on for like $40

You can always call a heavy equipment contractor near you and see if they have any worn out cutting edges from a small dozer. that would last the life of the blade.

blade edge
Being cheap I picked up a 4 ply tire casing cut the tread out and bolted to my blade and so far has worked good. I mounted it between metal cutting edge and blade mouldboard but had to use longer bolts

Have you tried turning unbolting it, turning it around and using the other side?

Thank you all for the input. I have decided to go with A mild steel blade. I got a piece of steel from a local welding shop. I painted it and used some stainless steel bolts to assemble it. I'll try to get some pictures posted. My phone is giving me problems.
