Steering wheel removal
 

Help... I can't get the steering wheel off of my 126. I have been soaking it down with Kroil, beaten and bangin with a hammer, put a puller on it and even had the bright idea of heating it up which melted the plastic and ruined the wheel so now I hoping to save the column. Looks like another part for the shopping list. I looked in the tech section here but I don't think I have this type of column. What should I try next?

Get a 5/8" fine thread bolt and nut, thread the nut halfway on, add the bolt, and then put your knees under the wheel and push up while beating on the bolt head with a hammer.

Thanks guys. I was actually beating on the bolt that is on the gear puller and it still wouldn't move. I'll give your method a try.
