Haban deck spindles

Bought a set of deck spindles from member Darrell a few weeks ago, same guy I got the casters from anyway today I pulled them apart. First set of Haban's I've opened up, very stout. Nice simple beefy design. Anyway looks like some new bearings and they will be like new. Bearings could probably still be used but a couple show some rust so I'm just going to replace all of them and be done with it. No pics today they are soaking in parts cleaner.

Looking forward to your updates, Sam.

Hope they work out for you Sam. Looking forward to reading this post , seeing them disassembled and put back together.

I really like your other threads also , especially the idler pulley post.

What are you using to get the pulleys off ?? I have been afraid to use a puller , thought it might mess up the pulley.

Darrell

Just took the bolt out at the top and the pulleys slid off the shafts, no puller needed. But if they are stuck on you just drive the shafts out the bottom.

Pic of the Haban spindles cleaned up. Waiting for the new bearings. Found a place that sells them cheap in a pack of 8 so I ordered 2 packs. I'll have enough to do these and the spindles on my Haban with 4 left over. Just need to remove the inner seal on them so they can be greased.

Were the bearings Made in China or USA? If they were made in China, were they quiet? Thanks for the info on this deck, it makes it easier for everyone.

I don't remember if they are China stuff or not but they are quiet, at least so far. It only has about 10 hours on it so far.
