Stand alone Kohler 16 HP power plant.
Was at a friend's place today and he showed me a Kohler package that his dad bought and tried it on some device and found he needed more power so took it off and put it in the garage. It is self contained with gas tank, starter button (like old time dimmer switches you used to see on floor of vehicles) place for battery, switch. Looks just like the 16hp we see in wide frames CC. Just a shaft coming out with a pulley on it.
All sitting on it's own frame/base. Anybody have any information on these? I will get a photo of it when I have it sitting in my living room. It looks Brand New! He says he will give it to me. |
That's exactly what it is.... A power plant. Nothing special, no special info. You could buy them that way. That's a GREAT DEAL though!!!! Get it quick before he changes his mind!!!! :biggrin2:

That would make a nice power source for a Pincor Generator. :beerchug:

Would the motor fit on a Wide frame?
|
usually no, they have the large 2 qt pan. would probably fit in a wheel donkey or simplicity, AC. I've seen them on starter packs , portable welders , air compressors ect
|
He has a small pan for it sitting on a shelf.

The price is right,FREE! grab it quick! So what if it won't fit a cub,you never know somebody prob needs it and it may work in a trade deal sometime.

Looks like it would make a great start for an interesting project. Being self contained in such a small package the possibilities are many.
Take my gas powered Club Car golf cart, I use it at my fishing cabin and everybody around there have these lifted and customized carts. I think it would be easy to hook the power unit to a hydro rear end, put on Ags and drop the cart body over it and have a "Puller" cart. Nobody has ever seen one of them before! And think of the sound the cart would have! I think there would be plenty of room in the cart for the engine. Could use the cart's front end. Just thinking. |
