So when the front of the 129 slipped into the ditch, leaving the back wheels on ice, I knew it was not going anywhere. I was nose down at 45 degrees so I shut it down right away not wanting to cause engine damage from oil not being where it was suppose to be. Well I hooked the Dodge Ram onto it and it slowly pulled right out of the ditch .......... Problem Solved! Imagine my surprise when I got out of the truck and found the 129 sitting on only 3 wheels. Aaaaggghhhhh!!!!!
Upon close inspection I can see where the axle had a working crack in it and heavy corrosion around the crack. So now I need a axle, drag link & 2 tie rod ends. I guess I'll do wheel bearings also since the front wheel are already half off. Oh Well ....... Off to check some sponsor sites.

Ouchiwawa! Looks like it was broke before but not in the same place?
Maybe a heat related stress crack from the previous repair?
Why not just weld 'er up again? Not a good idea...
At first, I thought you had just dropped the whole front axle off by breaking the pivot pin. Not so lucky. Yeah, hit the dealers at the top of the page.

I would have suggested just welding it back up but it looks like someone already welded it wrong and now the metal is brittle.I do a lot of cast repair it looks like the PO did not pre heat or post heat that earlier "repair"I think you would have trouble with this axle again no matter what you do to it now.
