New member checking in
Hello everyone. I have been a lurker on here for a couple of weeks now and am truly impressed with some of the tractors and knowledge of some of the members.
I was brought in to the Cub scene a couple of years ago when I was given a blown up 129. I did a little research online and figured it was worth a rebuild. Am I ever glad I did! These Cubs are awesome!! I now have a 129 and two 149's. I have decks from 42'' to 48'' along with the tillers , disc , 10'' moldboard plow , 42'' and 54'' snow blades and in the last year or so , have ended up with spare parts up the wazoo!! Here is my 129. I refinished it last summer and still need to do the deck and decals but it's looking pretty good so far! http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/cub_cadet_23.jpg Next up to be refinished is one of my 149's. It's in pretty good shape and runs like a top. I am going to do this one with powder coat instead of paint. http://www.hunt101.com/data/500/medium/149_tiller.jpg The one thing I am lookin for is a good source to get the seats recovered. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks all, Jeff. |

Jeff: Welcome. To respond to your question... when I want to have an original seat pan recovered, I take them to an auto upholstery shop which specializes in antique auto restoration - that vinyl top material used in the 60's & 70's is good stuff... b - u - t, if you are looking for cheep...this ain't it.

Thanks for the welcome everyone.
I have thought about an upholstery shop for the seats. Didn't figure it would be cheap. I built a custom backrest for my motorcycle and had my pad upholstered to match my seat...can you say sticker shock!! The seat on my 129 is one of those $35 specials from tractor supply and I had to make brackets for it to even fit. But I needed something. I would rather spend a little more to have it done right I guess. |
:Welcome2: Jeff! Glad to have you! Nice cubs you got there.
