Fixin up the 782

The 782 got some new parts and fluids. New coil, points, plugs, wires, point saver, oil/filter, hydro/filter, and 2 turbo blower fans. She is running great. Next this winter is to get the deck rebuilt and a new paint job, and I hope hydraulics for the front.

Is that a Series I or II? And I'm curious about those turbo blower fans, where did you get them and do you have them hooked up to a timer or something?

Oh yeah, and great looking machine!! :beerchug:

Nice lookin' 782. I'd guess a Series II going by the oil fill tube. Could've be changed out and put on a Series I though........:bigthink: :biggrin2:

Yes it's a Series II, and the fans are just on a simple toggle switch. I turn them on when I run the engine for a long period of time. I added the blower fans because I use it on my puller and found them to work great at keeping the engine cool. So i thought I would try it on the daily worker. It works great after mowing for over one hour my oil temp read 151. I'm happy with that. I got them here

That is a sharp 782. If that is all original paint it has been well taken care of. If I can ever get my hands on a 782 hope it's that nice, or at least turns out looking that good. A 782 is what I learned to mow on.

Which way do your fans blow? If they blow toward the rear, they will be fighting against the engine fan. :bigthink:

They are blowing back, but I haven't noticed a problem.
What should I look for, and is it something I should be worried about?

Yea she is a great machine. I plan on a new paint this winter. I don't care so much about keeping it original I want it to be a worker. That being said, I would like to keep it looking as much factory as possible.

I'm sure you haven't noticed a problem. You must not have also noticed there is a fan 4X as big at the back of the motor blowing air the other way. Kinda makes those little fans pointless doesn't it?
