Engine problems
I went to another pull this Saturday and did okay. But my engine wasent running the best. When I would idle it up all way it would pop quit often. I know it's not right but I am not sure what it is. Any ideas?

When you say "pop" I assume you mean backfire. Was it out the intake? Or exhaust? Backfiring through the intake indicates a lean condition. Out the exhaust, a rich condition. It also could be timing. Did it do it just idling? Or under load? More info please. :bigthink:

The backfire is comeing out of the exhaust. All I have done since last pull was adjust the idle and it ran fine for a while and then when I went to pull it started doing this. If it is timeing how do I tell?

Still need more info. What carb? Did you try adjusting the carb to get the backfire out? Start checking stuff. Where did you set the timing? Is it still where you set it? You won't know if it is a timing problem unless you check the timing. It is possible you even burnt an exhaust valve.

It's a standard Koehler 10 horse carb. I think Koehler 26 carb but not Sure. I have not tried adjusting the carb or the timing

when you have issues like that always go to the basics. did it get rained on? did you wash it before the pull?
|
Didn't get rained on or washed this time.

You should have come and asked me Brad. I would have been glad to help.
