HELP! Mamma's involved now. Need opinions.

Ok, now that I have your attention, mamma and I had a very heated discussion, you know what I mean. She said one tractor has to go. 1450 #1 is the dual stick & #2 is the single stick. She wanted me to swap all the sheet metal from 2 to 1 and any parts that were bad, then part out #2. I don't believe in parting out this old iron. I'm glad when others do and I need parts, but I can't. Then she said sell both my CC tractors and attachments and go to HD or Lowes and buy a new one. My skin is still crawling over that one. Next was sell everything and buy a new JD or Cub Cadet sub compact. She doesn't realize what that would cost with at least mowing deck, tiller, front blade and front end loader. I'm torn here and don't know what to do. I'm sure you've been checking my posts, so you know both need work, #1 is my baby and I know the dual sticks are rare. #2 is in a lot better shape paint wise. #1's engine, I rebuilt last year, #2 engine sounds go, but other than that, I know nothing about it. Can't read either hour meter. I have the 42 and 50 inch decks, QA32A and 1450 #2 on Craig's list. She keeps a spread sheet on ALL my tractor related expenses, so I had to list for what I have in them, but I include open to offers. I'm going to try to do some horse trading as I need an extension for my tiller or find a #2 tiller + I have Agri-Fab dethatcher, plug aerator, wagon & lawn sweeper to get out of here. My daughter needs a tractor for mowing an Mamma said give her #2. I asked her if she had lost her mind? I wasn't giving her a tractor that nice for my Grandsons to tear up. That was a HUGE mistake. There's a cot in the new shed now and curtains on the windows. I need some thoughts here so I don't lose my butt and try to keep her happy too.

Divorce lawyer??

Keep the twin stick, and take the best of the two to build one machine. With any luck this may take long enough that she will move on to "other" problems and you can keep both. If not I have a place for the 50"deck!

I'd keep the dual stick 1450.

Does the wife have a passion other than being a in control type? If so stand firm by submitting an alternate plan of financial reasonability by her also cutting expenses deeply in her area. Then after you get out of the hospital try something else.:biggrin2:

lol too funny. tell her she is in charge of mowing the yard then. you have to have the right tools to do the right job. the reason you have 2 is in case on breaks down you can still get the job done

I 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th that!!! I just went today and bought another. 3 Cub WF's now and a 4th Troy Bilt. If a woman can't let a man have his toys she has to go!! Just my $0.02. Mine was all for me being happy and getting a 4th. She really dont care as long as im happy. Im sure your wife buys all the kitchen gadgets, shoes, dresses, pants and shirts she wants dont she?

Why does she keep a spread sheet on all the "expences"? That controling? WOW!!! Mine dont even bat an eyelash when I go buy parts. As long as bills are paid, kid has toys, dog and cat have food, we have food in fridge, what little funds are left one of uses for ourselves. She can buy what ever she wants and mutal I can too.

She dont want to mow or do yard work and she knows I need my "tools" to do mine, so no problems.

I sure as H&(( wouldnt get rid of ANYTHING!! Unless YOU wanted to. I regret selling my 1650 every day because I was to stubborn to sit down and diganose and fix the problem. End results? Sold a very nice tractor for very cheap!!!! And someone else got a killer tractor and extra parts. Now Im wiser and think clearer and smarter.

Hope things work out for you though!!

Take care and GOOD LUCK!!!

John
