you wouldn't happen to have an extra gauge would you Matt?

Matt G. 12-30-2009 11:07 PM

Unfortunately not...I've only ever bought 1 rebuild kit. I wonder if someone has a drawing of the gauge...?

Some may disagree but this is what I do.

1.) Remove the PTO.

2.) Tighten the jamb nuts on the back side a little bit keeping the tension even between the three screws.

3.) Slide the PTO back into its basket do NOT replace set screws.

4.) Clamp some Vice Grips on the drive shaft.

5.) By hand, physically try to turn the PTO.

6.) Check the engage lever to make sure it will release.

Depending on how easy it slips, repeat steps 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, until it is difficult to make the PTO slip. As long as the tension between the three screws is pretty even, you should be good to go.

Do not forget to replace the set screws after final adjustment has been made.

dieseldog558 01-04-2010 05:33 AM

Mike, are you talking about a wf with an electric pto?.....if so you only need a .010 feeler gauge to adjust it
