Cub 104

Hey guys, I picked up another cub. Seems they keep running to me to get some love.
I got this one from a friend of mine. He used it all winter to plow with and then this spring it stopped running on him. I sold him a 2166 awhile back and he decided to just use that one for all his needs. Now she sits in my garage getting some needed love.
My buddy Morris (DJ) came over as soon as I got it home and within an hour she was running again. thanks for the help.
Anyways, I will start the disassembly process here in a couple weeks or less and begin to give her the shine she is deserving. She is in pretty rough shape as far as her make up is concerned. PO to my friend gave her a brush job on parts and other areas are still original.
Here are some pictures of how I got her.

concerning the exhaust..... is the 104 supposed to have a pepper pot or the cross over style like my 127?

thanks and have a good night.

Hoping that 1 of these days I will get one fixed up nicely and actually keep it. That'd be a change..

Nice find.

Yes, they are supposed to have the cross-over exhaust like the other 10 hp and larger engines.

A 104 for a 2166? IMO you got the better end of the deal here....it looks great. I agree the pepper pot thing should be the first thing to go; it should have the muffler with the angled tip that points out the right side (while seated) of the engine. I've always loved those blue dash tins.

Very nice!

started tearing into it today. this is all that will be done for a few as I am working the weekend. working always seems to get in the way of my cubs.

I tagged all of the wires and locations by #. All of the bolts and nuts are in their respective spots. All parts are housed neatly on a bench now until needed.

I will need some info. as to why the shifter knob will turn 360 degrees before I tear into that while it is apart. Is it a broken weld or a keyway? idk help is great b4 I jump into it.

Will also be replacing the pto with another while it is out. this one still works, but it's getting pretty bad.

thanks, have a great night.
