The "new" tractors!

Well, I had mentioned in an earlier thread I was trying to decide between an "O" and a 125. I did as recommended...... kinda..... and bought two tractors. I went down to pic up the 125, and low-and-behold, there sits a 1000. I decided pretty quickly that I would rather have the WF gear drive. (I was looking for one anyway.) But, that blower and 125 were still sitting over there. SO, I bought them too. So, now I have all this stuff, and of course, none of it runs or works in any way. Yep, that's how I roll. More projects :bash2: LOL! Here are a few pics of the machines. I uploaded an entire gallery for those who want to see. It's here. If you want to see something specific, ask and I'll post a pic in the album.

My plan is to take the motor out of the 125 and put it into the 1000. I have the motor for the 1000, but it was disassembled...... kinda. I think that someone may have been after building a puller, and abandoned ship. I'm not sure that there is anything wrong with the motor, but I would rather have the 12 HP (More power, DUH!) in the 1000 and make it a 1200. It is missing some parts, so when the time comes, I will be looking. I probably won't disassemble and paint until I have the "build" completed as I'm going to make some mods.

The 125 is going to be a donor, for the 1000 of course, and for a 71 project I am working on. The motor, I was told, was a good running engine. Although it has sat a number of years, apparently outside, and the carb is rusty inside, I think it will be a good engine. The lights and some other parts will be going to the 71. I will probably be selling some of the other good parts. The hydro linkage is locked up, and the PO said he was having hydro trouble. I'm not sure what kind..... so, whatever I sell, will be sandblased repaired and primed (for protection). The mower deck was JUNK, so I stripped it down already. When the time comes, I will list parts in the proper section, as nothing is yet "up for grabs".

I know that some will be sad that I am going to part this machine out, but, as stated, if it wasn't for "donors" there would be no good used parts available. As always, my mind is subject to change. :biggrin2:

The snow-thrower, I do not believe was ever used. It is probably the closest thing I will ever come to a "virgin" machine. It's really too bad it was sitting in the dirt. It will be blasted, painted and restored and kept for the 71 I'm restoring for my Grandad. It appears to be an early SN. I already have a Snowblower, and I think Grandad will enjoy clearing his drive with this if he is still able. If not, I'm sure it will be mine someday again!

Enjoy the pics, check out the album, and I will post progress pics as I go. Don't be surprised if it takes me a while, I'm a busy guy!

That is a nice looking 125 to part out for a 1000....but it's not my tractor, so have fun with it.

Thanks guys!

I'm having mixed emotions on all of this. I have several motors laying around. It's just that I was trying to get just ONE of the 4 cubs I have that don't run, running! :bash2: I have 5, and only the 1811 runs. ALL THE REST, need motors . It occurred to me today though...... I had a guy offer me a running (I've actually seen it run) K341 for $200. SOOOOOOO..... maybe I can get it and put it in the 1000. :bigthink: That, would be AWESOME! A 16hp gear drive! Then, I could get the 125 running, rebuild the K241 from the 1000 and put it in the 71, and that would still leave me with a rebuildable K241 and a K301 that I was getting ready to rebuild. HMMMMMMMMMMM ............ I'm gonna have to sit on a bucket for a while and think about this. :bigthink:

After looking at everything I'm pretty happy with this "haul"! :beerchug:

I like the idea of the 16hp K341 myself for a GEAR drive IH Cub Cadet 1000 :buttrock:. At some point focus on the IH Cub Cadet 125 and get that running, because it looks complete and in good condition!

Now, if only money grew on trees, I could spend all day, every day tinkering around with these awesome garden tractors! Have a good Cub Cadet day gang! :biggrin2:
