Kohler Command 22hp bent pushrods

Hey guys,

I drug home a 3240 with a 22hp command in it. After looking at it I found a bent pushrod on the right hand head (viewed sitting in seat). I put a new pushrod in it and it bent that one too. I can open the valve by hand. So, what would cause a bent pushrod? The oil is a little over full. The guy we bought it from was mowing with it and it quit on him. It puffed a blue puff of smoke and died. He added oil and it wouldnt start back. The fins look like they need to be cleaned, also. Any suggestions?

Thanks!!

Stuart

Time to pull the head and see if it dropped a valve seat.

See my response to your post in the CCC/MTD section. Might be your problem and can be fixed without pulling the head.
