122 making odd squealing noise
I was at my grandmas riding the 122 around with my 3 year old daughter. Felt good riding it again after taking the starter/generator apart for cleaning and adding a new generator belt. But after 10th lap around the house the tractor developed on odd squealing noise(best I can describe it) that stopped whenever I pressed in the clutch. I did not have time to inspect it as wife wanted to get headed back home. I am looking for insights from the cub pros here on what it might be and solutions. Much appreciated.

could be a noisy throwout bearing......possibly dried up and out of grease
|
The thro-out bearing only spins when the pedal is pressed.
Better check the oil in the trans. |
Yep sounds like the input bearing on the trans itself somehow got dry. Reason it stops when u pish the clutch is because the shaft stops spinning. My 124 started to make a sound today as I was mowing so I'm in the same boat

I could not figure out how to change that bearing on one tractor. I changed the entire front of the transaxle.

Are you guys talking about one of the reduction housing bearings?
