1650 muffler

The muffler on my 1650 is split and I am looking to replace it. What muffler would be a good replacement for the stock one. I figure if I have to replace it I might as well upgrade it. Any suggestions?

Why not go back with stock?

I would go with the stock one. New price isn't appealing but a used one can be had reasonable.

You could check one of these out at a local Auto Parts Store...

Is the walker muffler a direct replacement for the stock one

That is what I was told. I have no personal experience.

I suppose one could go to a Auto Parts Store that sells Walker and order one with the understanding that if it don't fit, it can be refused or returned. Once you get a in person look, take your old one along for a side by side comparison.

This is what the summit page said. If this is right it is way too big

Obviously, the specifications are grossly wrong.

The specs on that website are off a mile. The muffler is almost perfect. I installed one on a 1210, which takes the same muffler as your 1650. I had to expand the the inlet very very slightly, and had to add an outlet extension. The outlet did not line up 100% with grill opening so I used a slightly curved piece. My 1210 has been around and I'm not even sure it has the correct grill opening..

In my case is was economically worthwhile to buy the Walker. Certainly worth the bit of effort to install. It seems strong and well built.
