My new 129/149?
Well I found a home for my 127 I had. It was my first NF and I wanted to check them out and see what they were about and we didn't really "spark" this time around. Maybe I'll find another down the line that'll appeal to me more. Anyway, I ended up trading my 127 and some cash for a 129 with a deck. The twist is, it has a different motor: a K321A. So, does that make this a 149?
Anyway, she runs GREAT, starts right up, and the cigarette lighter even works, score! :biggrin2: I'm hoping to give her a good cleaning this weekend because she needs it but for now, this is my new toy. Can't wait to mow with her for the first time!! http://imageshack.com/a/img534/9049/utj0.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img18/5031/gw2c.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img819/9590/equm.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img834/5740/ovkg.jpg http://imageshack.com/a/img825/5358/7w88.jpg A 149 now? http://imageshack.com/a/img96/3562/87yk.jpg Any idea what the holes in the hood are for? http://imageshack.com/a/img21/9899/v1iw.jpg Oh, and I made a new friend, his name was Larry :biggrin2: http://imageshack.com/a/img43/9942/3drd.jpg |
which one is Larry?:biggrin2:
It is still a 129 as a 149 has the hydro lift. Nice upgrade though. |
Nice trade!:beerchug:

The guy also has a complete 782 in actually really good shape he's trying to get rid of. Well, complete minus a motor :bash2: He said he's got the brackets so you can put a single cylinder motor in it so I may be paying him another visit for that if I can come up with funding. But first, I want the QA42A blower he's got, said he'd take $150 for it and it's complete and spins free. Hmm...so many toys, so little money :bigthink::biggrin2: |
Good looking 129/149 jimbob200521

Congrats on your nice 129!

Looks like a good trade.
I gotta agree, it's still a 129 but with a 14 hp engine. Kinda like putting a 327 in an old Chevelle that came with a 307. |
I think you and Larry did well:beerchug:

Congrats on your "up" trade! Hope this one "sparks" with ya!

Way to go!! It looks to be in very good original condition. I've had 4 or 5 129's, but there is just something about the simplicity of the NF's that I like....perhaps its the time they came out, the 60's and early 70's that makes them appeal to me, not for sure why since I wasn't even born then. Nonetheless, it looks like it has been well kept and will serve your needs for many years--especially with that 14hp engine!
BTW: The holes in the hood look like they were to mount something....perhaps a radio or even a tv!!! The radio is understandable, but the tv might make your mowing lines appear to be as curvy as Mae West!! I know a guy in Florida who has a tv mounted on a mower, which to me would be like a tv set on your wedding night--unnecessary. Did you ask the PO about it? Maybe the strange bracket on the front undercarriage is a clue to follow up on for the holes in the hood! Cub Cadet 123 |
