New Member to OCC but not to Cub Cadets

Hello all fellow Cub Cadet fans,
I'm new to Only Cub Cadets but certainly not to Cub Cadets. My father-in-law is the one responsible for getting me into Cubs. 1st experience was with his 107 that had the original K241 10hp swapped for the K301 12hp. What a tractor it dealt with everything I threw at it, and believe me I was like 17 yrs. old and I thought it could do anything. Later his collection grew to include a 124, 70, 100 and a 169. Fortunately as his collection grew to the point he had no more room he brought me his 107, after he got his pride and joy 169. The 107, the very tractor I cut my teeth on so to speak. I've used it for years and loved it, even with it's as typical poor turning radius. I loved it so much so that I didn't hesitate when the opportunity came to rescue another fallen 107. Originally thinking if for nothing else it would make for a reasonable parts tractor, minus the blown engine, and modified (read as ruined) 42" mowing deck spindles. Anyway I also recently bought a 2011 LTX-1046 with the 46" deck and 23hp Kohler. OH yeah and you gotta love all those new Government safety gadgets (crap) sprinkled all over the new stuff! Excellent tractor for mowing but I wouldn't tow anything valuable behind it. Again comfortable, turns great, excellent mowing...etc but certainly not one of the olde boys (or girls for those of you with a bit closer relationship with their tractors). Funny how sayings are proven right so often...They don't make 'em like they use to! Over the years the tractors have be a point of bonding for us. So as I've thought more and more about it I think restoring the broken down 107 is the right thing to do. Since everyone has a dreams, here is mine...A fully restored 147. You know something attainable. Besides if he takes his 107 away what will I haul trailers with around the yard? I hope I didn't break any of the rules by mentioning the LTX-1046. I didn't really read the legal disclaimer when signing up, I just accepted the rules as everyone else usually does. Anyway this was only meant to be my intro into this wonderful forum. Thanks and Talk to you guys later on. David |

You are as devoted to IH/Cub Cadet as all the rest of us! By far were the better tractor than the JD. I'm all about my 71 and 72. You meet good folks around a Cub Cadet. Keeps me out of trouble too!
Welcome Cub Cadet friend, OCC is happy to have you! |
Staying out of Trouble
I'm not entirely convinced this Cub Cadet tractor craziness keeps us completely out of trouble...just ask any of us that are married. I don't think most wives really get it!

OK so as I'm new I have not found where to go about adding an Avatar. Maybe it is because I'm new, I don't get one yet, I'm not worthy? Just a little help for the newbie. I'm generally pretty good with computers and internet stuff but I just haven't found this option. Thanks in advance.
