1641 hydro gear pump
 

hi guys.Can a 1641 hydro gear pump be rebuilt.My cub wont move.When I first start it it moves. once it warms up it whines and wont move.Please help.Im a new member.tks guys

Have you changed the fluid and filter in this machine? Hydro pumps and gears rarely fail. What about the relief valves..... have you ruled them out? Will it not move in either direction? Is the fluid level ok? Lets start with all that.

^^^ yup agreed. start with the simple and easy. these pumps are pretty much bullet proof.

I agree, with the others. If it were damaged to the point of needing repair i don't think it would move at all, anytime.

the hydrogear pumps have a problem I remember some time back a dealer called me looking for a pump for mtd they needed one to fix somebodys tractor but do as suggested change oil and filter and see if that helps sometimes that's all that needed if not then your pump needs replaced and I think new ones are nla

The relief is external of the pump. Make sure that the lever you pull up on to move the tractor is not keeping it from working. You will have to look under it to see how it works.

did everything u guys said. no luck.wont move at all.tks guys gonna convert it to a sunstran rear.cool guy I talked to on this site said it would work. tks all very much

Yep you can probably put a Sundstrand in it but you will need to address a couple issues. 1 drive shaft 2 hydraulic lines 3 linkage 4 front mounts.

Did you check to see if the charge pump is bad on the Hydro Gear?
